Connecting the Dots from 0 to 1k: My Journey to Becoming a UX Designer.

Dot 1: The Early Years
As a child, I was always fascinated by the world of design. I loved to draw, experiment with different technologies, and consult people, even when I didn’t fully understand the facts. However, I had a problem — I stuttered, which made it difficult for me to express my feelings and ideas. But this didn’t stop me. Instead, it embraced my passion for visual communication and my interest in understanding and improving the user experience.
Dot 2: The Shift to UX Design
My journey took a significant turn when I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems. Here, I found myself drawn towards creating information architectures and developing mobile games. After graduation, I joined PwC, one of the Big Four consulting firms, as a Digital Consultant. But something was missing. I felt like a square peg in a round hole, unable to fully utilize my skills and passion.
One day, a client saw potential in me while I was learning Sketch and Figma. They gave me a week to create a dashboard for a sales startup. I succeeded, and it was a turning point. I realized that I could combine my consultancy skills with my passion for design. Furthermore, I discovered the term “UX designer,” and it felt like coming home. I dove headfirst into learning, taking more than five bootcamps within a year, and eventually decided to pursue a Master’s degree in UX design.
Dot 3: The Leap of Faith
Despite being promoted to Senior Consultant, I decided to leave PwC and move to Germany to pursue my Master’s degree. I was eager to learn more about UX design and share my knowledge with others. So, I started this blog to share valuable information with people who also wanted to make a career switch, just like me.
Conclusion
Looking back, I can see how each dot in my life connected to lead me to where I am today — a proud UX designer. I am grateful to everyone who has been part of my journey and to you, my readers, for your support. Each article I write is a labor of love, backed by thousands of hours of reading, analyzing, and optimizing content to share with you.
